The importance of advertising in ‘credit crunch’ times.

An article recently published on the importance of advertising during the recession had these main arguments:

1. The golden rule is to stay in touch with your customers
2. If you are inconsistent they won’t trust you
3. If they can’t find you they will go to your competitor
4. And if they forget who you are, you’ll have to start all over again

We all know that recessions will come and go, but it is important that a client’s reputation doesn’t disappear with it. In times like this advertising and PR really demonstrate their potential. Reputation management has always been important but, now more than ever, should be the backbone for a solid marketing strategy.

Advertising will play an important role during the recession as should not be put on the backburner as a way to keep costs down. The ‘credit crunch’ doesn’t appear to be subsiding any time soon so it is absolutely critical that your business maintains its presence during these tough times. A lot of companies are in the same boat but if we stop doing business with each other that is when businesses will suffer!

• Could you generate more referrals?
• What do you have in place that can be improved upon?

The recession will pass and businesses will come out the other side grateful that the hard work that their marketeers have put into their brands have helped them survive these uncertain times.
